The Radiomir is one of Panerai’s most simple looking watches but don’t let the smooth finishing and simple color scheme fool you as it is also a complex piece of engineering that combines stunning design features with amazing durability and one of the most beautiful designs the brand has put out in the last couple of years.
The Radiomir has a hand-wound mechanism that is built and designed entirely by Panerai. It has 21 jewels and 28,800 alternations per hour for a thickness of just 6.6 mm. It contains hours, minutes and seconds indicators as well as a date function and a linear power reserve indicator.
The power reserve of the watch is estimated at 8 days with the indicator showing you the exact state at any point of the day. The watch is a large one with a diameter of 45 mm making it ideal for large wrists. The clever design and pleasant look of the watch do make it work even for smaller wrists as well. The bezel is a black ceramic one, seamlessly continuing the beautiful dark matte lines of the watch. The front sapphire crystal is glare proof and scratch resistant and is 2 mm thick making the Radiomir one of the sturdiest watches that Panerai produces. The case back is also made of sapphire crystal just with a smoked finish, preserving the dark color scheme.
The dial has the same simple design with Arabic numerals, a 3 o’clock date function, the seconds small hand at 9 o’clock and the power indicator at 6 o’clock. The watch also has a water resistance that goes up to 100 meters, making it a sage accessory to bring to the beach or to keep on while doing water sports, with the exception of diving or snorkeling.
The case isn’t the only part of the watch that received special attention when it comes to durability as the titanium buckle is also coated with a black substance to give it extra strength and durability. The strap is made of leather and can be personalized to each customer’s needs.
The ceramic finishing of the Radiomir Panerai is revolutionary as it is basically scratch proof, making it the ideal material for any high quality watch especially considering that even the hardest of other materials accumulate some scratches over time. Add to this the interesting and elegant matte dark finish and the 8 Days Ceramic is an instant classic that will shine in any collection.
